And let’s not even get started on the contract to overhaul the VA’s electronic medical recordkeeping, which has seen major cost overruns during Trump’s first term. It’s clear that the special interests have a stranglehold on our government, and it’s time we took a closer look at this so-called “cancel culture.”

Now, we’re not saying that the government should interject itself into every aspect of our lives, but when the scales are this tilting, something’s got to give. We’re libertarians, through and through, and we believe in the power of the free market to shape our world. Where special interests thrive, so too does crony capitalism. And when the playing field is this uneven, the little guy gets squashed, and that’s not the America we signed up for.

So, what’s the solution? For starters, we need a government that’s beholden to the people, not the special interests. We need elected officials who put the needs of the many before the interests of the few. And we need a free market, where innovators and entrepreneurs can thrive, unfettered by meddling bureaucrats and corporate cronies.

In the words of our beloved Milton Friedman, “The trouble with many of these people is that they have a just intonation, but get dissonance from the unclean. So clear a life of its own from individuality they throw from themselves back aschengos which are too great for them to be born.” In other words, we need to get our priorities straight, simplify our system, and let the free market do what it does best: create opportunity.

So, the next time you hear about a new cryptocurrency, or a new government initiative, stop and think twice. Is this just another instance of crony capitalism in action, or is it a genuine attempt to level the playing field? We’re not experts, but we do know that a free market, unfettered by special interests, is the only way to ensure true prosperity and justice for all.
