  • Conversations about Hawaiian History 2020

I have gotten a wave of new comments, threats and challenges since I announced that I want to run for a local elected office in Hawaii.

Out of nowhere, after almost 4 months of getting no comments on my old youtube videos, I am now getting a new wave of comments on videos that I made nearly 2 years ago.

This is a video that I made many months after settling in Hawaii (after spending much of the last decade here). This video came out in August of 2018. Before the Jennifer Ruggles protest, before the huge stand off on Mauna Kea. I gave my perspective of what I see both in current times, and historical times. I used credible sources, and I even lent my empathy to the struggle.

When I first settled permanently in Hawaii, I was in favor of Hawaii’s independence from the USA, or at very least a vast revision of US law in Hawaii, such as repealing the Jones Act, and other encumbrances. I still have every intention to help relieve Hawaii of the tainted and unfair Jones Act. However, I am not onboard with the independence/sovereignty movement like I started out. I will explain below.

This is a clip from a conversation that I am having at the video above:

@D Lo says: “I can prove all your claims to be false each n every one of them.“

@Disruptarian Radio (me) replied: That is FAR more respectable than name calling and threats, I accept your challenge

@D Lo says: You are so distanted from actual events that you make up a story that has no validity.

@Disruptarian Radio (me) replied: Your talk is big. I hope your proof is better

@D Lo says: Each of your claims can n have already been dismissed by a much more qualified source than yourself but yet you sing the same tune n say you wanna be educated.

@Disruptarian Radio (me) replied: And if you are referring to the common characters such as David Sai, his claims have been disproven over and over again by much more qualified and respectable people as well. But this is no longer about them. This is about YOU disproving my claim, as you promised above. I’ll be waiting. You should document it via video

@D Lo says: You have some sort of ill feelings towards the Hawaiian people it comes across as racist n plain stupidity.

@Disruptarian Radio (me) replied: So you have devolved back to name calling. Many of my best friends are Kanaka Maoli heritage and ancestry, and they don’t agree with you or David Sai either. I respect truth, it has nothing to do with race or ethnicity

@D Lo says: Nobody in their right mind would believe anything you say because of your attitude n no aloha spirit you project

@Disruptarian Radio (me) replied: Bro, so far you have done nothing but cast ill will, name calling and threats. You haven’t even attempted to have a conversation yet. Is that YOUR version of Aloha?

@D Lo says: If you watch the ceremony of lowering of the Hawaiian flag n the actual swearing in of insurgant Sanford dole, with the fake document of a so called treaty or resolution.

@Disruptarian Radio I wasn’t there. You weren’t there. But there were many kanaka there in support of Sanford Dole. Many Kanaka added their names to the Constitution of the Republic of Hawaii. Your faulty thinking is that it is US verses THEM. And you seem to think that ALL Kanaka think and feel the way that you do. Well they don’t. I have proven that over and over again

For the full conversation, see the video comments at: The story of Hawaiian Sovereignty from a Haole who lives in Hawaii

This has gone on for two days, and because some comments have been deleted in the process, I have screen-recorded the exchange, so that nothing is left out in a series of videos.

In one exchange in the many comments back and forth, I stated:

@D Lo its easy for me to dispell your logic or claims about me. I simply don’t buy into your racism. But I’m not an “America is best” or “USA is best” kine guy. Because I have for years and still do support Puerto Rican independence Maybe stop using violence and racism and you will find more support https://youtu.be/MBu-_cu15MM

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tw95Xjx_dCw&lc=Ugx8ND4XwQR2Ns7AQv54AaABAg.8lGkzlOLBsV993DR6yp87G

This is absolutely the case. I lived in Puerto Rico for over a year, until Hurricane Maria wiped out the island, blew over our house, and sunk our boat. While I was there, I saw the mistreatment of Puerto Rico by the USA, and such terrible impositions such as the Jones Act there. I favored and supported the Puerto Rican Independence movement as a result.

I stated this to D Lo:

@D Lo you would be surprised about how I feel about the mismanagement of the USA. I agree with a lot of claims by a lot of different independence movements. I am and was a proud supporter of Puerto Rican independence from the USA. BUT..

    1. They didn’t use lies and fake history to make their claim
    2. They don’t raise racism to further their movement

I agree with Puerto Ricans on independence based on the pure fact that the USA is not good for the island there. I started out thinking that the Hawaiian independence movement was much the same. Until I realized how much racism you all use to further your cause. I am against racism and therefore I will not support a racist movement But I can show you the many videos that I made while I was in Puerto Rico supporting their independence Quit using racism. Honey attracts more than salt brah

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tw95Xjx_dCw&lc=Ugx8ND4XwQR2Ns7AQv54AaABAg.8lGkzlOLBsV993AdSY5zLF

This is one video that I cast in support of my Puerto Rican and Latin American friends

This is a video that I made for Trump about the Hurricane Maria recovery, and I will tell you I was not happy with him. He was insensitive and crass, and ignorant to Puerto Rican people. So I sent this to the White House.

Response to Trump about Puerto Rico, aid to PR

So to say that I am just a Pro-USA or Pro-American or Pro-Trump guy, that would be OBVIOUSLY and DRASTICALLY inaccurate.

I pursue TRUTH and JUSTICE. Regardless of which country it is from.

    Sincerely,

    Ryan Thompson

  • What I love about the Pacific Northwest

Since I was 17 years old, I have been coming to the Pacific Northwest to do soul searching. I remember arriving in Seattle on the Greyhound bus in March of 1994 for the first time, and I had been to a few other places in my life, but never anywhere close to the Pacific Northwest. At that time the farthest I had been from Utah was Sault St. Marie, Ontario Canada (and we took a train in Canada, but I can’t recall where we went to, but it was a good long ride, and beautiful). However I had never been north California on the West coast, and I had never been to Washington or Oregon. Despite that I had literally no reservations, no friends no work in Washington. When I got to Seattle I found access to day labor, passing out flyers, working at Pink Elephant car wash (strange and rewarding experience in itself), and within 2 months of being there I was getting paid to get signatures for petitions for medical marijuana. I was getting smoked out and getting paid some cents per signature. It wasn’t hard to get a bunch of signatures in Seattle for that. So I got paid a decent amount. I believe I was 18 by then, because I don’t recall having any problems cashing the check. I met a lot of like minded people. Musically minded people like my friend Charles, of the band “Fucko”, or my friend Yushi from a band I believe they went by Face Down, but he was in a few bands, he played bass and slung ink, and I was covered with some of his first work (which is actually my best work too, he was a natural tattooist).

    Ryan silly
    Ryan silly

I met and got engaged to four women, well, young women. But after spending enough time together, in time, we both realized we weren’t good for marriage. Long term commitment at 18/19 is really difficult. Or even 21/22.. But I always preferred the idea of monogamy, and to this date, have only ever practiced monogamy. So when dating got serious, it seems that one of us jumped the gun in a marriage proposal. It was never very eloquent I suppose. Just random banter, and “marriage this and that”, and lo and behold, I found myself engaged 4 different times before I met my wife. My wife and I fell quick. Made my head spin.

I was actually just writing on my website when we met, about how she had a photo of her holding a semi-auto rifle and being decked out in full camo. But I can not find that picture. She is beautiful though.

They were all PNW girls that I had a marriage arrangement before I met my wife in SLC. She was a transplant, but from white-bread Pocatello Idaho. Which was basically just like Utah, where I grew up for most of my life.
So it wasn’t hard to convince each other to go on a wild adventure together. Just, it has never stopped.
So many adventures. And yet, still right now I sit here in Washington. Without her.
This is the strangest feeling, and the most torn I have ever felt in my life. I love the PNW. She needs Hawaii. We both constantly talk about coming back to Seattle. But when it comes down to it, no place or thing can turn me from my destiny. Whatever it was that made my wife and I click 18 years ago, was the most moving thing that I have ever experienced in my life. More than Washington, more than singing in punk bands, more than a heart to heart with someone who needs it. The things that give me the biggest rush in life, can’t seem to compare to my lovely lady.

    Lovely
    Lovely

Sorry getting off on a tangent This blog is supposed to be comparing my two favorite places in North America. Which is Hawaii and Seattle. But I can’t help but think about what and where my lovely lady is.

Getting back to The Pacific North West. It is a very sentimental topic for me. Also, getting back to bands. There was “Blue Collar Love”, which my case worker at the Christian street ministry that I ate at played bass for. When I first arrived in Seattle when I was 17, there was a Street ministry on Summit Ave that fed kids between the ages of very young to probably 20 years old. Somewhere in that range. I remember calling them once when I was in a really desperate place, and I was probably 20, and they were able to help me. It was/is called New Horizons. They are in Belltown now. Chris, Mary, Liz, Ron, and then the woman and man Penny and Leroy (RIP) Babbitt who basically adopted me, invited me in to their family, and even to this day, I seem to have a place in that family. At least some very good friends to lean on, that were put in my life by God through this ministry.

My adopted grandma Penny February 2020

Beyond my teenage years in the PNW, when I returned later after my first daughter was 2 or 3 years old. Which she was born in Colorado, but we made our way back through Utah first, and then to the PNW for several years.
And despite moving here and there, we kept coming back to the Pacific Northwest, owning and renting properties on the east side in Spokane, and north of Spokane on some very beautiful properties. One on Deer Lake, and for a while we had a horse ranch with a single horse in Deer Park Washington.

We owned our first boat in Tacoma Washington. When we first bought the Roanoke, this 80 year old beauty was sitting in a large slip in Point Defiance Washington. We were living and working for a man who owned a 4 million dollar home, and we had been there for 2 years.

    Lake Road Bellevue
    Lake Road Bellevue

But we never had an actual lease with him, because we were just trading work for a place to live. So we never got comfortable in the lakeside mansion in Bellevue, and when we found that beautiful twin V8 50′ cigar boat, she was sassy like prohibition itself. She was a floating speak easy. We had to have her! We had good times on that boat, we some amazing bands like Jug of Punch (traditional Irish band) and a hand full of signer/guitarists. We enjoy the Tall Ships festival multiple rotations. We very much enjoyed floating across the Puget Sound to visit some of the islands.

    Roanoke Foss Harbor
    Roanoke Foss Harbor

This reminds me, I need to track down some old photos. So this will be updated in the future.

It is true a lot of the same things that I love about the PNW, I also love about Hawaii. I meet a lot of Hawaiians here in the Seattle area. I think the two areas are very compatible, even with the vast differences between the two places.
Having a bit of both is a real blessing.

My wife and I also took our PADI dive classes in the PNW by an awesome instructor named Cindy, when we owned that boat. I got squeeze (sinus pressure and pain) really bad, and half way through Kim got pregnant. When this happened, Kim had a major desire to have a VBAC (Vaginal Birth After Cesarean) and Washington Hospitals refused, and claimed it to be an insurance issue. So we ended up abruptly moving from Washington after being there for years, and we moved to Idaho, to be closer to family. That turned out to be a really terrible idea. We were in Idaho for 3 months before leaving. It goes beyond words. I’ll leave it at that.

I think the Asian influence, the honor system in a lot of ways, and the creative spirit of Seattle is what always draws me. Of course the beauty of the PNW is awesome. I love both the West and the East side in Washington and both climates are vastly different. Kind of like (but in different ways) the difference between Puna and Kona. Or the East and West side of the Big Island.

So as it stands, I love both Hawaii and the PNW equally but for different reasons, and also some of the same reasons. I wish distance wasn’t such an obstacle. But then again, I kind of appreciate how distance is an obstacle
I do worry about Hawaii sustainability a lot more than I worry about Washington’s economy. Hawaii is skating on thin ice, while depending on basically one fragile industry, which is tourism.

So there are pros and cons on both sides of the pond. I think I love Hawaii and Seattle equally but for different reasons.

I have promised myself that I would post 12 completed positive posts. My first one was yesterday with the post about Hawaii. This is the second one, about the Pacific Northwest. I will continue on past 12 potentially. However I will report the fact that I think are vital, whether the report is positive or negative, based on assessed necessity.
It feels good to just post thanks and gladness! Some times the world is too dark, and its time to count my blessings.

  • The Not So Accidental Police Informant

On the topic of false accusations, I have witnessed one which I tend to call “The Not So Accidental Police Informant”.   This story started 16 years ago for me, when I first met my wife, and then shortly after I married her.  Within four months of us meeting, we married.  Inbetween us meeting in June and us getting married in October, I was asked by my fiance to do my brother-in-law a favor and give him a job at an upcoming construction project that I was hired to be on.   Because of our marriage coming up, and my lack of savings at the time, I quit my job as a Tier 3 technician at MSN/Qwest, so that I could get the 12-18 hour days at this job building gun traps for a company called Action Target for a law enforcement shooting range in Baton Rouge Louisiana to pay for the wedding.   I agreed to take her brother, despite not ever having met him before, and not knowing a lot about him, other than my wife was 17 years old when she left her parent’s house because he was always causing some kind of drama.  But I didn’t do a background check on him or verify any references, I just took their word that he would work.  After getting to the job, it was quite clear he had never worked a hard days work in his life.  Within a week, he refused to leave the hotel and go to work.  He then went to the emergency room, where I waited for him until late in the evening, in which then I had to wake up at 4am the next morning for a 16 hour day in the hot sun, while he lounged around the hotel room.  All night he moaned “Why does God hate me”.  Then the next day and for the next 3 days he refused to go to work.  But he refused to quit.   On the fourth day he went to work, but once again refused to lift a finger.  He was getting paid like the rest of us but was not working.   So he was fired.  He told me how unfair it was, and asked me to get his job back.  Which I did.  The boss hazed him and told him he would be hired back at one dollar less per hour.  This pissed the kid off, and for 3 more days, he went around the job site talking shit to the project managers that were onsite from different crews, trying to get us to lose our contract or something.   He was sent home after that.

For every day after nearly for those 16 years, he has harassed our family, either on social media, or by sic’ing his stepdad on me, or at the end just a few years ago he was calling the police on me.

    1.  Incident where he sicd his stepdad on me
    2. Where he called the police on me telling them that I was a domestic terror threat

So I looked up his police record when he started calling the police on me.  I thought, surely this couldn’t only be happening to me?   After pulling his record at  www.idcourts.us (Idaho Court Repository), I found some interesting details that I was pretty sure I would find before I even started my search.
    The crimes that stuck out to me, beyond the theft and violence, was that he had several crimes such as;

    1. Phone Harassment (x2)
    2. Making terroristic threats (x2)
    3. Making false accusations (x2)

    Harassement

    Harassment

    History of harassment

    Long history of harassment
    Case:  CR-2006-0015919-MD
    Case:  CR-2003-0011040-MD

    Year > 2003 | Case > CR-2002-0011040-MD| County > Bannock

    Year > 2003 | Case > CR-2002-0015919-MD| County > Bannock

At this point, the search is useless, some of the cases beyond 3 years are not listed.  But I can give you a full list as I was able to do a background search on this fella, when he was calling the police on me, and sending his daddy to my house to fight me.   https://www.intelius.com/criminal-records-search

(reference;  www.idcourts.us)  (the Idaho Court system has a new court repository as of 2019, which has limited data on it, but using the case numbers from the images above, one can go directly to the court to get the case information)

    More on this at:   https://opinions.clovisstar.com/trolls

    While he has multiple of these charges on his record, I will say that he was only convicted of one each.   I can also say that none of his charges have anything to do with me, I have never once called the police on him.  When the police have asked me (after he sent them to me), if I want to press charges, I have declined.   I have that evidence of a police interaction where I declined to press charges here;

Public complaint against Officer Tyler Evans

However, the interesting thing to me was that he was getting charges several times a year, up until the point where it is clear he was offering up information to the police on other people, which was the third charge I listed  “Making false accusations”.
While at first he was being penalized for it, subsequently in years to follow, he had charges that were sealed by the court, and he stopped getting arrested anymore, pretty much since the last time that he snitched on someone.
So first he started snitching “False accusations“, then when he would be arrested after that, the court would seal his records, and now he doesn’t get arrested anymore.

So regardless of if he is a paid police informant or just someone who drops information to the cops from time to time, it is clear to me that he is a police informant.

The point is, that watch your back.  Filter who is close to you.   I jumped in too quick with my wife, we both agreed on that.
It’s not that if we waited longer we wouldn’t have gotten married.  However, waiting would have given us more time to set ground rules and barriers for friends and family.
From what I learned in this, it is a good idea to date for at least a year before getting married.
We are still happily married after 16 years, but we have cleansed our life of family drama.

  • What I love about Hawaiian Culture, and Hawaiian History

What I love about Hawaiian Culture, and Hawaiian History. There are so many things about Hawaii that I love in very intense ways. But I think the best part about being in Hawaii is learning of the 2000+ year history of Hawaii, and the ancient Polynesian explorers. Its easy to remember what I love about Hawaii when I am away from her long enough to realize the things that I love so much.
I have been visiting Hawaii since long before I moved to Hawaii in 2018, always to look at a boat. After moving to Hawaii, and getting deeper into the culture, I have learned so many things about the Hawaiian culture.
I am grateful for all of the knowledge, and the personal stories that have been told to me. I hear a lot of different versions of the same history, even from families who have lived on the islands for centuries. But each version shows where that person or that family put their priorities, or where they were hurt the most and by whom.
I find the spirit of aloha to be beautiful and a vibrant way to express love and care for other human beings. However what aloha is shared in Hawaii now is shared cautiously. I am not sure if this is new, or if this goes back long before Captain Cook came to Hawaii, since it is a sore spot in Hawaiian history, that they had some brutal social practices such as slavery, capital punishment, torture and human sacrifice. The science and the oral history seems to indicate that when the Tahitians came to the Hawaiian Island chain 900 years ago (give or take some), that there was already an established civilization, called the “Mu people” or “Mu”, and when the Tahitians landed, they conquered, captured and enslaved these people of much smaller stature, which according to multiple sciences and peer reviewed works (see notations at the bottom) came from South East Asia. I will notate some sources that document the slave class in the Hawaiian caste system, long before Europeans ever landed in Hawaii, but you can search for yourself the “Kauwa “.
The point here being, that while there are certainly class and racial issues in Hawaii now, that does damper the aloha, or at least suppresses it a bit. People in Hawaii have been burned many times throughout history, and even Hawaii as a state gets a bad end of a law such as the Jones Act, which should have expired long ago, due to it being a war-time measure, not a peace time measure, and it is very costly to the islands that are within the protection/control/occupation of the USA. From Puerto Rico (for instance, when we were there for Hurricane Maria, and seeing how both Federal and most CERTAINLY local government responded to the aftermath), to USVI, to Hawaii, Guam, and American Samoa. All of these areas of the USA has to submit to the costly regulations under the Jones Act. I will put a reference in the bottom of this article for information on the Jones Act incase you are unfamiliar.

So while these are tense issues, and sometimes painful issues. It does make for a deep and rich culture, with many many layers to the depths of the people and the various changes of power throughout millennia.

As a traveler, an explorer, and a navigator (of ships and airplanes), I respect the history of Hawaiian explorers and naked-eye navigators. I know how learning that is a real deep cultural knowledge and it not easy to attain that knowledge. It took Polynesian people thousands of years to perfect their amazing navigation skills. To be close to this is a real cultural benefit that you will not find anywhere else.

As a highly multi-cultural melting pot it gives people an understanding about both how little melanin truly means, underneath it all. But in cases of protests and revivals like what is going on with the Mauna Kea movement, it also sometimes reminds us how much culture and heritage does mean to humanity. Which has given us pause to appreciate the many blessings and the amazing amount of beauty, history, and knowledge that Hawaii has brought to the world.

I learn about new things in Hawaii that I gain a great appreciation for all of the time. From the aina, in such events as the 2018 Kilauea eruption that our home was literally a mile away from the main fisser. How powerful the land is, how powerful the air is, and how powerful the sea is. Hawaiians / Polynesians as of the last 900+ years are by in large a warrior culture. Which in a lot of ways, makes sense if you get to know how raw and powerful the environment is. This gives me a major appreciation for the team work and fierceness of/in this culture.
Growing up in very culturally closed areas of the world, such as Utah which I lived in for most of my childhood, along with California and Arizona, it opens my eyes to so many new human experiences being in Hawaii. I have dedicated myself to learning Japanese, which I practice learning on daily with Duolingo. This is partially inspired by the Japanese friends that I have met in Hawaii, and also from a recent visit to Japan that I was able to take because of my situation in Hawaii.

One thing that I realize about Mormonism in the Hawaiian community, and why the Mormon church seems so popular among Hawaiians, is that Hawaiians and Mormons have a lot of history in common. There may be legends on both sides, some that may be very true, or so that may be embellished. However, Mormonism and Polynesian history have many many parallels. I personally left the LDS church, and I believe most of their teachings to be legend or fiction, and I do not follow Mormonism. But growing up in Utah with an LDS family, and dating several Hawaiian girls growing up and having a couple of Hawaiian friends in school growing up. I always wondered “WHY would Hawaiians join a historically racist church”?? But, there is appeal in other areas of the Mormon/Hawaiian connection, such as genealogy, and the history that they teach.

This is another direction point of connection that I have in common with many Hawaiian friends. Despite not being either Hawaiian myself (not by birth), nor do I practice Mormonism any more. I would say that my dedication to family history ranks closely with devoted Mormonism, or culturally tuned in Hawaiians. I love family history, and I have spent a good portion of my life building a repository of photos, documents, and video of places that my family have visited where our family has history. I love talkin story with Mormons and Hawaiians both, based on similar interests and similar history.

The many many blessings that I enjoy in Hawaii could go on for a very long time. Most of it is common sense and obvious type of stuff, like sun, seas, beaches, fishing, etc. But there is so much to Hawaii that I can only understand by experience, and I have no verbal way to communicate it. Even the disagreements and political issues in Hawaii become a learning experience and therefore a blessing as well.

In the video below, I shared some of our sailing and exploration experiences around the world.

  • The hysteria of the COVID-19 Pandemic

For me I have a dim understanding of diseases, and pandemics. I will not pretend to know on any qualifying level any of the specific medical/biological/viral details of this issue. I will give sources to the experts at the end of this post, and I will attempt to provide opposing opinions from two reputable experts on the topic.

For me, I am counting the numbers, and the projections of what a major global economic recession looks like to the many hundreds of millions of very poor people around the world that have to work day to day to barely feed their families. Many of these families living on less than $1 a day. The go out for work in the day, to eat that night.
With a global economic shutdown, and lockdown/martial-law like situations, many of these people are going to starve to death. There will be uncounted many who die from the results of this economic shutdown.

When I compare the deaths, and even the potential deaths that humanity could see due to COVID-19, but then I compare that to human abortions, and there is nearly 50,000,000 (50 million) abortions in the world every year.

If 5000 deaths is going to cause a huge country of 330,000,000 (330 million) people. Then there is something that I am missing to this equation. Why did we not close borders and issue martial law-like stay at home orders under H1N1?

I am curious what is so different about this latest various of COVID that makes COVID19 so much more difficult to deal with, than the other previous pandemics that have sprung up due to COVID strains of virus.

Ron Paul had some wise words on this, and I had included that in a post from a few weeks back.

  • Updates about the COVID-19 virus

I wanted to note a few things that I reviewed today about the COVID-19 virus.
One thing that I want to emphasize, is Ron Paul’s warning that the US government, as well as other governments, have sort of a “perfect storm” in that they have plenty of reason to capitalize on the fear and gain for themselves more power. This must be examined and appropriate measures should be taken to address this if Ron Paul is correct.

(this is probably on youtube as well)

Ron Paul who is a long time medical doctor would have to explain his reasoning for saying what he said in that video. I suspect that he is more accurate than one may suspect, he has a habit of being correct about things like this.

The second issue I wanted to talk about is President Trump’s proposal to give struggling family’s $1000 for each adult to add stimulus to the economy during the Corona Virus hysteria.
I will say a few things. First, Bankers just got somewhere in the neighborhood of $700,000,000,000 ($700 Billion) dollars from the federal reserve, as I understand it and other money from the government, once again called “Quantitative Easing”. If these folks need that money so much, then I believe they need it no less than the rest of the country. Ron Paul would say “let the banks fail, that is how the market works”. It’s true, poor performers or those who take risks and lose, pay the price by going out of business. It makes sense and gives other banks a reason to do things right.

This is what is being proposed for cash payments to needy families during this crisis.

$1000 one time payment per adult
$1000 per adult per month during the crisis
    Up to $4000 per family.

It appears to have support from both sides of the isle.

I would rather end the Federal Reserve or the IRS. Or both hopefully. But until then, it doesn’t hurt to get a bonus refund on your taxes!

  • COVID-19 Race for a cure

A lot of energy in the world to solve the problem that is growing with the so-called “Corona Virus” aka COVID-19.
As of right now, I have family within 6000 miles, (Hawaii, Mainland US, and Ireland) who are getting slowly locked down more and more in their lives to preemptively quarantine for the avoidance of the COVID-19 virus.

This is the prediction, that the scientists working on this cure, and or vaccine is that there would be between a year to three years to get this through the approval process and to the public.

  • What’s Next Step For Thirty Meter Telescope Project

Imua TMT Panel: What’s Next Step For Thirty Meter Telescope Project? (Feb. 16, 2020)

Also last week, you can hear Sam Wilder King II speak about his problems with the TMT protest and the words that they use to describe those on the other side. For example, many of these protesters will call someone like Sam King II, or Kalepa Baybayan “fake Hawaiians” for having a different point of view than the protesters.

  • Eddie Bravo Understands “Republican Family Values” Now

From the Joe Rogan Show 01/09/2020, this is where Eddie Bravo breaks down that when he was younger he was liberal, and most comedians identified as Democrat/Liberal, and that people had a prejudice against Republicans that they were hill-billies from Alabama who were “shuving Christianity down people’s throats” and that they were trying to ruin everyone’s fun. But now as an adult with children, he understands the “Republican Family Values”. He is a lot like myself. I don’t identify as a Republican. I am not registered as a republican, and aside from Ron Paul (who most Republicans would probably say he is “not republican”), I haven’t ever voted for a Republican. But I get it also.

  • Why I don’t want to be involved with corporate media

Why I don’t want to be involved with corporate media. This is also why I don’t take donations usually. I received a donation in December of $600 of gift cards for our radio show, a donation that I had turned down in November just the month before.

    Offer to donate in November
This is the email I sent the next day declining the donation

The person called me and said that she had already sent Christmas gifts for our kids in the form of gift cards and that I was not allowed to turn it down. So I spent them on Christmas. I bought our kids’ toys with the money. But then today (January 6th 2020) the same person informed me that she is mad that I reported some details about the Thirty Meter Telescope’s budget issues. She was upset that I rebroadcast the New Your Times article on the subject from December 23rd 2019. She said I should not have “bashed the TMT”. After some filthy words and accusations were sent my way, only two weeks after she sent the gift cards, she is asking for me to return them to her.

I told her that I would return what I didn’t spend on promoting the video that she asked me to produce for her. In the video below I show where on facebook alone I spent $254 of that on ads to promote that media. Then I also advertised on Youtube and Twitter. When I calculated all of the money that I spent promoting this campaign, I spent over $700. Reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eGTpFQGkUbc

That doesn’t even include the time I spent editing and producing the media at her request.

But who asks for a Christmas gift back? That sounds like some asshole shit to do to someone. But this is also why I do not like to take donations from people for my media. I talk about it more at this link:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m7RifWnP-Io

And in the following video, this is what I referenced in the video above, about the censorship that Monsanto pushed on Fox News, and when Fox News censored their “investigative news team” so that they didn’t lose Monsanto advertising dollars.

When I made that video in 2011 about Corporate Media vs. Social Media, my point was the same. My fear was also the same. Any time in the past 20+ years that I have been sent a donation for a media project that I am working on, regardless of what it is. I seem to get the same consequence if I accept the donation. Someone wants to control my media or my behavior.
This is also why I encourage other people do their own media. So that there are no slaves and no masters when it comes to free expression. Those slave and master days are over thanks to the internet!

In my video above I say that I have been doing media since 2006, but actually it goes farther back than that.
I started www.Behindzioncurtain.com back in 1999. Then it was www.UtahPirateRadio.com, and then a flurry of others along the way. One of my most attended to social media blogs was www.xCannabis.com (and www.xcannabis.net), and then we did print newspapers with www.clovisstar.com for about 4 years in 3 different states. I interviewed a lot of people in Hawaii via https://www.blogtalkradio.com/sensilife about the “green 14”, and other cannabis initiatives that we were working on.

So that is a lot of media. We have had a lot of guests and a lot of guest hosts through the years, and a few times we even accepted donations. However I would say 8 out of 10 times that we have accepted donations, it has turned into “since I gave you that donation, you need to behave this way”.

Well, the point of blogging, rather than working for a media corporation, is no bosses. No one gets to tell me how to write, or vlog, or print newspapers. I own the media, and I have no bosses. That IS the point.

So I will not bend on this TMT issue. I still support the TMT, but I have some genuine concerns about it right now.

If you treat me right, I will treat you right. Regardless of donations, payments, work, or anything financially related.
I don’t care if you have given me a million dollars, Im not going to kiss your ass or let you treatment poorly because of it. Nor will it change my point of view. I change my point of view based on good facts and logic, nothing else.
