  • The Uncomfortable Truth: How Democratic Socialists Mirror National Socialist Tactics

A masked crew with swastika flags showed up on the lawn of the New Hampshire State House in Concord. They clashed with people. They waved a sign that read “Trump Loves Epstein.” This was not a Twitter insult. This was the real thing, in public, on camera, and it reveals something the establishment doesn’t want you to see.

NHPR reported that the marchers were members of Blood Tribe, a neo-Nazi outfit that travels in packs and stages stunts for attention. They piled into the back of a U-Haul and drove off while bystanders yelled. But here’s what matters: these actual National Socialists carried anti-Trump signs. The same people waving swastikas oppose the man the left calls a Nazi every single day.

    Let that sink in.

For years, the media and Democratic politicians have thrown “Nazi” at conservatives, Trump supporters, and anyone who questions their agenda. But when real Nazis show up, they’re on the left’s side of the political spectrum. They oppose Trump. They share the left’s contempt for Israel. They believe in central planning and state control.

The uncomfortable truth? National Socialists and Democratic Socialists have more in common than anyone wants to admit. And it’s time we stopped pretending otherwise.

When Real Nazis March Against Trump

The “Trump Loves Epstein” banner at Concord wasn’t random. Neo-Nazi groups have consistently opposed Trump, recognizing that his policies, support for Israel, opposition to centralized state control, defense of individual gun rights, contradict their authoritarian worldview.

National Socialism was never “right-wing” in the American sense. It was socialism with a racial focus instead of a class focus. The Nazis nationalized industries, banned private gun ownership, controlled media and speech, and built a massive welfare state. Sound familiar?

The Third Reich perfected propaganda tactics through Goebbels’s ministry, which controlled film, radio, newspapers, books, theater, and art. The goal was simple: shape perception, control information, rule absolutely. Today’s Democratic Socialists pursue the same goal through different means, social media censorship, “fact-checking” operations, deplatforming, and coordination between government and Big Tech. See the Concord footage here: YouTube.

Political Violence: The Left’s Weapon of Choice

On September 10, 2025, conservative activist Charlie Kirk was assassinated at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, by Tyler Robinson. The murder should have united Americans in horror. Instead, polling revealed a chilling partisan divide.

According to YouGov polling conducted September 11, 2025, when asked if it’s acceptable to be happy about the death of a public figure you oppose, 77% of Republicans said it’s always unacceptable, compared to only 38% of Democrats. Even more disturbing: 44% of Democrats said it’s “sometimes acceptable” to celebrate political deaths.

This isn’t just numbers. This is a fundamental difference in how the two sides view political violence. And the left’s acceptance of violence doesn’t stop with polling.

Antifa, BLM, and Billions in Destruction

The 2020 riots weren’t “mostly peaceful protests.” They were coordinated acts of political violence that caused billions of dollars in damage, destroyed minority-owned businesses, and resulted in dozens of deaths.

Antifa operates with clear organizational structure, particularly in Portland, Oregon. Despite media claims that it’s “just an idea,” Antifa has identifiable uniforms, logos, coordinated tactics, flags, and command structure. They operate with military-style discipline, attacking journalists, business owners, and political opponents.

Video evidence from Portland shows organized violence, firebombings of federal buildings, and sustained sieges of government facilities. In Minneapolis, police precincts were burned. In Seattle, “autonomous zones” resulted in multiple shootings and deaths. Across America, small businesses, particularly those owned by minorities, were destroyed.

And through it all, Democratic politicians and media outlets downplayed the violence, called it “mostly peaceful,” or justified it as understandable responses to systemic injustice. When Republican Senator Tom Cotton suggested using federal troops to restore order, the New York Times opinion editor was forced to resign for publishing his op-ed.

The message was clear: left-wing political violence is acceptable. Right-wing violence is terrorism.

This is exactly the double standard the Nazi Brownshirts benefited from in Weimar Germany. Street violence was tolerated when it came from the left, normalized, then weaponized for political gain.

Following the Money: Soros, OSF, and the Funding Network

George Soros sits at the center of the left’s funding apparatus. His Open Society Foundations has distributed billions to progressive causes worldwide, but the money trail reveals something darker.

Soros’s history matters. Born in Budapest in 1930 to a wealthy Jewish family, his father obtained forged papers when Nazis occupied Hungary in 1944. Fourteen-year-old George was placed with a Hungarian official who claimed him as his Christian godson. During this period, Soros accompanied his protector when Jewish property was being confiscated. In his own words from a 1998 60 Minutes interview, Soros acknowledged being present during confiscations and stated he felt “no guilt” because someone else would have taken the property anyway.

Whether Soros was a willing participant or merely present, his later comments about that period reveal a troubling mindset, one that prioritizes survival and self-interest over moral clarity. That same mindset appears to drive his political funding today.

Multiple governments have banned or restricted OSF operations:

    • Russia designated OSF as an “undesirable organization” in 2015, citing national security threats (HRW)
    • Hungary passed “Stop Soros” laws in 2018, forcing OSF to relocate (NPR)
    • Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan have restricted OSF-funded democracy initiatives
    • Belarus shut down OSF offices in 1997

Why would so many countries ban an organization claiming to promote “democracy and human rights”? Because OSF’s real goal is destabilization and political control.

Conservative investigators have traced funding from OSF through intermediary networks to Antifa-linked organizations. A roundtable investigation by The National Desk identified OSF, along with Arabella Advisors, Tides Foundation, and Neville Roy Singham, as sources of “dark money” flowing to radical street organizations.

Capital Research Center released a report alleging OSF gave over $80 million to organizations characterized as “pro-terror” or extremist-aligned. The money flows through layers of intermediary groups, making direct attribution difficult but not impossible. The pattern is clear: Soros funds organizations that fund organizations that fund street violence.

When confronted, OSF claims it only funds “civil society organizations working on human rights.” But those organizations include groups directly involved in the 2020 riots, groups that promote defunding police, and groups that support BLM, an organization whose leadership embezzled millions while cities burned.

The Shared Hatred: Democratic Socialists and Antisemitism

One of the most disturbing parallels between National Socialists and today’s Democratic Socialists is their shared contempt for Jews and Israel.

In May 2024, Michigan House Republicans introduced a bipartisan resolution to declare May 2 as End Jew-Hatred Day. House Democratic leadership blocked the resolution from reaching a vote.

State Rep. Donni Steele stated: “At this point, House Democrat leadership and these radical protestors are one and the same. Protestors want to ignore the atrocities Hamas committed against the Israeli people last fall, and House Democrats want to ignore the reality that no protest calling for the destruction of Israel could be peaceful.”

After Hamas’s October 7, 2023 terrorist attacks, which included rape, torture, and the murder of over 1,200 Israelis including children, campus protests erupted across America. But these weren’t protests for peace. They were celebrations of terrorism, calls for Israel’s destruction, and expressions of open antisemitism.

Protesters chanted “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free,” a call for Israel’s elimination. They set up encampments, disrupted classes, and harassed Jewish students. And Democratic politicians largely stayed silent or offered weak, qualified condemnations.

The U.S. House voted to censure Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) over her Israel-Hamas rhetoric, with some Democrats joining Republicans. But the fact that it required a formal censure vote reveals how normalized antisemitism has become on the left. (PBS NewsHour)

Republican leadership has repeatedly highlighted Democratic refusal to condemn antisemitic protests and rhetoric from progressive activists. While Democrats condemn antisemitism “in principle,” their actions tell a different story. They tolerate antisemitism from their coalition while calling Trump supporters Nazis.

The Nazis blamed Jews for Germany’s problems. Today’s Democratic Socialists blame Israel for Middle East instability while ignoring Palestinian terrorism, Iranian aggression, and Arab state oppression. The target is the same. Only the rhetoric has been updated.

The Policy Parallels: Central Planning, Gun Control, and State Power

Strip away the racial ideology of National Socialism and examine its actual policies. What you find is terrifyingly similar to the Democratic Socialist agenda:

    Central Planning and Economic Control

National Socialism implemented total state management of the economy, with political control over industry and labor. Private property existed on paper, but the state directed all production, employment, and resource allocation.

Democratic Socialists advocate the same model with different branding. They call for:

    • Government control of healthcare (single-payer systems)
    • State ownership of energy production (Green New Deal)
    • Massive expansion of public housing
    • Federal job guarantees
    • Wealth redistribution through confiscatory taxation
    • Price controls and rent controls
    • Nationalization of key industries

Both systems reject free markets and individual economic liberty. Both place central planners above individual choice. Both claim to act “for the people” while concentrating power in government hands.

    Gun Control and Disarmament

One of the Nazi regime’s first acts was gun confiscation. The 1938 German Weapons Act prohibited Jews from owning firearms and gave the Nazi government complete control over who could possess weapons.

    Democratic Socialists pursue identical goals:

    • “Assault weapon” bans targeting the most effective self-defense firearms
    • Universal registration creating government databases of gun owners
    • Red flag laws allowing confiscation without due process
    • Magazine capacity limits
    • Ammunition restrictions
    • Calls for mandatory buybacks (confiscation with compensation)

The rhetoric is always the same: “common sense gun safety.” But the goal is identical to the Nazi model, disarm the population, eliminate the ability to resist, concentrate the power of force in government hands.

    Speech Control and Information Warfare

The Nazi propaganda machine controlled all information. Dissent was criminalized. Books were burned. Media was state-controlled.

Democratic Socialists can’t burn books in public squares, yet. But they’ve built a sophisticated speech control apparatus:

    • Coordination between government and Big Tech to censor “misinformation”
    • Deplatforming of conservative voices
    • “Fact-checking” operations that function as political censorship
    • Hate speech laws that criminalize opinion
    • Campus speech codes that punish dissent
    • DOJ pressure on social media companies to remove content
    • FBI labeling of parents at school board meetings as domestic terrorists

The Biden administration directly instructed the DOJ to pressure Big Tech platforms to censor content. Obama’s IRS targeted conservative organizations, denying them tax-exempt status and subjecting them to invasive investigations based solely on political viewpoint. These aren’t isolated incidents, they’re systematic efforts to control speech and punish dissent.

The Nazi book burnings were public and dramatic. Today’s censorship is digital and bureaucratic. But the goal is identical: control information, silence opposition, maintain power.

    Political Consolidation and One-Party Rule

The Nazi party eliminated opposition through violence and legal manipulation, eventually establishing one-party rule.

Democratic Socialists pursue the same goal through different tactics:

    • Attempts to eliminate the Electoral College, ensuring permanent Democratic control
    • Court-packing schemes to eliminate judicial independence
    • D.C. and Puerto Rico statehood plans designed to create permanent Senate majorities
    • Voting law changes to eliminate security measures
    • One-party rule in major cities, often for decades
    • Speech codes and cancel culture that punish political dissent
    • Weaponization of federal agencies against political opponents

The Russia collusion hoax was an attempted coup. For three years, Democrats and media outlets spread a conspiracy theory about Trump-Russia collusion, using illegal FISA warrants, FBI surveillance, and special counsel investigations to undermine a sitting president. When that failed, they impeached him twice on fabricated or exaggerated charges.

The January 6 prosecutions represent political persecution of Trump supporters, with hundreds imprisoned for trespassing while Antifa rioters who firebombed federal buildings received minimal sentences or no charges at all.

This is exactly what the Nazis did, weaponize law enforcement and intelligence agencies against political enemies while protecting allies from consequences.

    The Cult of “The People”

Both National Socialists and Democratic Socialists claim to represent “the people” against corrupt elites.

For Nazis, “the people” meant the Aryan race. For Democratic Socialists, “the people” means the working class, minorities, and “marginalized communities.” The specific identity changes, but the formula is identical:

    • Define a virtuous “we” (the people)
    • Identify an evil “them” (Jews/Israel for Nazis, “white supremacists”/conservatives for Democrats)
    • Claim all actions are justified to protect “the people” from “them”
    • Concentrate power to “save” the people
    • Eliminate opposition in the name of the people

Once you define a moral “we” versus an immoral “them,” crushing rights becomes not just acceptable but necessary. History warns about this road, whether it’s paved with racial nationalism or class warfare.

    Why This Matters Now

The Concord neo-Nazi march exposed the rot in political discourse. For years, Democrats and their media allies have called Trump supporters, conservatives, and anyone who questions their agenda “Nazis” and “fascists.”

But when actual Nazis showed up waving swastikas, they carried anti-Trump signs. They aligned with the left’s position on Israel. They believe in state control, central planning, and political violence, the same principles Democratic Socialists advocate.

The confusion is intentional. When words lose meaning, extremists thrive. They operate in the chaos while the public argues over definitions.

So here’s the truth Democrats don’t want you to see: National Socialists and Democratic Socialists share the same fundamental principles:

    • Central planning over individual liberty
    • State control over private enterprise
    • Disarmament of citizens
    • Information control and censorship
    • Political consolidation and one-party rule
    • Contempt for Jews/Israel
    • Tolerance or approval of political violence
    • Rhetoric of “the people” to justify authoritarian control

The differences are mostly superficial, racial nationalism versus class warfare, explicit violence versus systemic coercion, immediate totalitarianism versus incremental authoritarianism.

But the destination is the same: total state power and the elimination of individual liberty.

    The Charlie Kirk Reality Check

Charlie Kirk’s assassination on September 10, 2025 should have been a wake-up call. A political activist was murdered for his beliefs on a university campus in America.

Instead, 44% of Democrats said celebrating political deaths is “sometimes acceptable.” Think about that. Nearly half of Democrats believes it’s okay to celebrate when their political opponents die. (YouGov)

This isn’t theoretical. This is measured support for political violence. And it aligns perfectly with what we’ve seen: tolerance for Antifa violence, justification of BLM riots, silence about left-wing terrorism, and celebration when conservatives are attacked, doxxed, fired, or killed.

The Nazis used the Brownshirts to terrorize opponents before taking power. Today’s Democratic Socialists use Antifa, BLM, and campus activists to achieve the same goal, intimidate opposition, normalize violence, and create a climate where dissent is dangerous.

    What Must Be Done

You don’t beat National Socialists, whether they wave swastikas or pride flags, with performative outrage. You beat them with truth, courage, and unwavering defense of liberty.

    • Name the connections. Stop pretending Democratic Socialism is fundamentally different from National Socialism. They share methods, goals, and increasingly, tactics. The differences are branding and degree, not substance.
    • Expose the funding. Soros and his networks fund organizations that fund organizations that fund street violence. Trace the money. Publish the connections. Make them defend the indefensible. (The National Desk, Capital Research Center)
    • Defend gun rights absolutely. An armed population cannot be subjugated. This is why both Nazis and Democratic Socialists prioritize disarmament. The Second Amendment isn’t about hunting, it’s about preventing tyranny.
    • Fight speech control everywhere. Whether it’s Nazi book burnings or Big Tech censorship, the principle is identical. Demand platforms that respect free speech. Build alternatives if necessary. Never accept government control of information.
    • Call out antisemitism. When the left tolerates or promotes antisemitism, name it. When they side with terrorists over Israel, call it what it is. The pattern is too clear to ignore. (Times of Israel Blogs, Rep. Tom Cole)
    • Reject political violence. Whether it comes from neo-Nazis or Antifa, political violence is unacceptable. But recognize the asymmetry, the left tolerates its extremists while demanding conservatives denounce violence they never committed. (Louder with Crowder)
    • Demand equal justice. January 6 trespassers rot in prison while BLM rioters walk free. Antifa firebombers get probation while conservative protesters get years. This selective prosecution is authoritarian, and it must end.
    • Trust individuals over planners. Every authoritarian movement promises prosperity through central planning. Every one fails. Economic liberty isn’t just effective, it’s moral. Your life belongs to you, not to planners in Washington.
    • Keep government on a short leash. The Founders understood that concentrated power corrupts absolutely. That’s why they built in checks, balances, and limitations. Defend those structures because they’re all that stands between liberty and tyranny.

    The Line in the Sand

National Socialism murdered millions and plunged the world into war. Democratic Socialism claims different intentions while building the same apparatus of state control.

Maybe Democratic Socialists don’t intend concentration camps. Maybe they really believe their central planning will work this time. Maybe they genuinely think censorship and gun control will create safety rather than tyranny.

But intentions don’t matter when you’re building the machine of authoritarianism. Once you hand the state the power to control speech, confiscate weapons, direct the economy, and punish dissent, you’ve built the infrastructure of oppression. What happens next depends only on who grabs the controls.

The neo-Nazis in Concord waved swastikas and opposed Trump. They revealed the truth Democrats desperately want to hide: National Socialism and Democratic Socialism occupy the same authoritarian spectrum. They pursue state power through similar methods. They share contempt for individual liberty, free markets, gun rights, free speech, and Israel.

The Nazis didn’t start with concentration camps. They started with gun registration, speech control, media coordination, economic planning, political persecution, and street violence against opponents.

    Sound familiar?

Concord is a warning. Real neo-Nazis are marching. Real political violence is escalating. Real censorship is expanding. Real gun control is advancing. Real antisemitism is growing. And real authoritarians, on both the explicit National Socialist right and the Democratic Socialist left, are competing to control the machinery of state power.

A free society rejects both paths. It picks liberty over security, markets over planning, speech over censorship, arms over subjugation, and limited government over unlimited power.

The choice is clear. The time is now. The question is whether Americans have the courage to see what’s right in front of them and the spine to defend what our ancestors died to preserve.

Don’t let them gaslight you. The connections are real. The threat is growing. And your liberty depends on recognizing the truth before it’s too late.

Aftermath of Two Major Earthquakes and Typhoon Tino: November 2025 Journal is the kind of subject that fits the Disruptarian lane because it sits where independent media, culture, music, and political commentary collide.

The source description frames it this way: A Disruptarian field-style journal from November 8, 2025, following the aftermath of two major earthquakes and Typhoon Tino. This Rumble version focuses on lived reality, disruption, weather damage, disaster aftermath, and the human side of navigating multiple crises at once. Original source video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h1pReRK2feo Disruptarian: https://www.disruptarian.com

The useful question is not only what happened, but why the story matters to people who distrust scripted narratives, recycled outrage, and corporate-approved commentary.

A Disruptarian reading starts with individual agency. The listener is not asked to accept a packaged conclusion. The point is to pull the claim apart, compare incentives, and look for the pressure points that legacy media often skips.

That approach matters for libertarian radio commentary because the audience is usually looking for more than a headline. They want context, motive, contradiction, and a practical sense of how public stories become private consequences.

The cultural layer is just as important. Disruptarian music and reggae punk energy are not decorations around the message. They give the work its rhythm: skeptical, confrontational, and rooted in the idea that speech should stay alive even when institutions prefer silence.

For search readers arriving cold, the primary source is included below either as an embed or as a direct source link. Start there if you want the full tone, timing, and argument. The written analysis expands the title and description into a searchable article that can stand on its own.

The strongest SEO value here is clarity. The article keeps the title language visible, uses descriptive headings, and connects the topic to Disruptarian Radio, independent media, libertarian commentary, political culture, and original music without stuffing the page with empty repetition.

The larger takeaway is simple: independent commentary survives by documenting what was said, preserving the source, and adding a point of view that does not depend on permission from gatekeepers.

That is why this post exists as part of the static Disruptarian archive. The video remains embedded, the title and description remain traceable, and the surrounding article gives search engines and readers enough context to understand why the episode belongs in the broader Disruptarian catalog.

The title itself carries the first keyword signal, but a durable post needs more than a copied headline. It needs a clear H1, a concise meta description, a featured image with descriptive alt text, and enough editorial framing for readers to know why the video is part of this archive.

From an independent media perspective, the value is in keeping the primary source visible. Embedding the video prevents the article from becoming detached commentary. Readers can compare the written interpretation against the actual recording and decide whether the argument holds up.

The libertarian angle is not automatic partisanship. It is a suspicion of concentrated power, public manipulation, and narratives that ask citizens to outsource judgment. That suspicion applies to government, platforms, corporations, activist institutions, and media brands alike.

Disruptarian Radio also treats culture as evidence. Music, political language, online mobs, censorship fights, moral panics, and personal stories all reveal where pressure is being applied. That is why a radio episode can be more than entertainment; it can become a record of a moment.

For listeners who follow DJ Disruptarian, the same pattern shows up in the music catalog: reggae rhythm, punk edge, spiritual critique, and anti-authoritarian instinct. The written post keeps that identity attached to the video instead of letting it disappear into a platform feed.

Good SEO on a page like this should help people find the conversation without flattening the voice. The article uses natural phrases such as Disruptarian Radio, independent media, libertarian podcast, political commentary, original music, and disruptive conversations only where they make sense.

The featured image should follow the Disruptarian editorial-collage style: torn paper, smoke, halftone grit, dirty cream paper, black and oxblood pressure, muted gold accents, and symbolic props tied to the subject rather than generic filler. Its alt text names the subject so search engines and screen readers get useful context.

The article also keeps a stable URL under the static blog. That matters because feeds move, platforms change embeds, and social links decay. A static post gives the episode a second home that can be indexed, backed up, linked, and reviewed later.

The final point is documentation. When a channel publishes a new video, the title and description are often the only structured metadata available. Turning that metadata into a post creates a stronger archive without pretending to replace the original recording.

This is the practical Disruptarian method: preserve the video, state the source, add commentary, keep the searchable terms honest, and let the reader move between the embedded media and the written analysis without friction.

This additional context keeps the post useful for readers who arrive from search rather than from the original channel. It explains the source, preserves the embed, and connects the subject back to the larger Disruptarian archive.

This additional context keeps the post useful for readers who arrive from search rather than from the original channel. It explains the source, preserves the embed, and connects the subject back to the larger Disruptarian archive.

  • Candace Owens Declares War — And Why I Stand With Her

Candace Owens just dropped a bombshell, and I’m here for it.

On her podcast, she delivered a raw, direct message:
“I want war with all of you.”

She was talking about the people around Charlie Kirk and his organization, Turning Point USA. She believes something is being hidden, and she’s not letting it go.

This kind of fire is exactly why Candace Owens is one of my favorite voices in conservative media. She doesn’t play it safe. She doesn’t bend to social pressure. She tells the truth as she sees it and stays loyal to her convictions — no matter how much heat she gets.

    What Happened?

In a now-viral message, Owens says she wants “war” with those who were surrounding Charlie Kirk on the day of his death. She’s not talking about random people. She’s calling out insiders. She’s sharing text messages from 2018 where Charlie apparently told her he thought he might be “wiped out at any time.”

She’s making it clear: she believes there’s more to the story of Charlie Kirk’s death. She refuses to move on until she finds out what happened on September 10th.

“You will never silence me,” she said in her recent video .

    Why This Matters

    1. She’s Loyal.
Owens doesn’t back down. She’s defending her friend even when it costs her. That kind of loyalty matters more than politics.

    2. She Fights for Truth.
She’s not asking for blind support. She’s demanding answers. She wants transparency. That’s what real accountability looks like.

    3. This Hits Close to Home.
When I heard her speak, it reminded me of my brother’s suicide. He was harassed and alienated by the police for months over false claims. While others stayed silent, I spoke out — and I never stopped.
    I talked about it here:
👉 My video: “The Suicide of My Brother”

    4. It’s Bigger Than One Person.
Candace’s challenge shows how power protects itself. Whether it’s government, media, or even conservative organizations, people in power rarely get called out from within. But she’s doing it.

    What We Can Learn

From a libertarian point of view, this is about more than a personal feud. It’s about holding institutions accountable. It’s about not trusting the narrative just because it comes from someone wearing the “right” label. Power should never be beyond question — even when it’s coming from your side.

Candace is showing us what it looks like to fight for truth, even when it’s uncomfortable. That’s real leadership.

    My Final Thought

Candace Owens doesn’t always say things people like. But she says what she believes, and she doesn’t back down. That’s rare. And that’s why she’s one of my favorite conservative voices of all time.

Go Candace. Never stop speaking the truth.

  • Students in Oregon Take a Stand for Truth and Civility

    By Ryan “Dickie” Thompson

Something rare just happened in Oregon. Students at Thurston High School in Springfield walked out of class to protest hate speech directed at conservative speaker Charlie Kirk. That alone is newsworthy. But what makes it even more powerful is where it happened.

Oregon is often seen as one of the most progressive (and often radical) states in the country. Portland’s reputation is well known for left-wing activism, riots, and “woke” ideology. Schools across the state are flooded with gender theory, critical race theory, and anti-capitalist messaging. So when a group of high school students stands up against this wave, it deserves our attention and support.

These students did something bold. They saw a school employee post online about Charlie Kirk being shot and respond with the word “Good.” That’s not just poor judgment. That’s hateful. That’s celebrating violence because someone has a different political view. The students knew this wasn’t right, and they didn’t stay quiet.

    They organized and walked out.

They didn’t just post online. They showed up in person. They stood outside their school and said, “Enough.” That takes guts—especially in a place like Oregon where going against the dominant ideology can get you labeled as a bigot or worse. These kids took that risk anyway.

One student said in an interview, “If you’re going to be okay with murders, what else are you really okay with?” That’s a good question. When people start cheering for political violence, it’s not long before they excuse even worse behavior. The line has to be drawn, and these students drew it.

Let’s not forget what they were reacting to. Charlie Kirk was nearly killed in an attempted shooting at one of his events. Whether you agree with his views or not, the idea that someone could celebrate an attempted assassination is disgusting. Imagine the outrage if someone had said “Good” after a left-wing speaker was attacked. The media would go wild. But when it’s a conservative, many stay silent. These students didn’t.

Charlie Kirk is someone I admire. He speaks plainly. He believes in free markets, traditional values, and individual liberty. He isn’t afraid to challenge the status quo, and he doesn’t back down when people attack him—physically or otherwise. He’s helped millions of young people think differently about what they’re taught in school and college.

So when I see young people in Oregon—of all places—standing up for him and against political violence, I feel hope.

We’re told that Gen Z is lost. That they’ve been fully captured by woke ideology, obsessed with cancel culture, socialism, and government control. But clearly, that’s not the full story. These students proved that there are still young people who care about truth, fairness, and real justice. They’re not buying into the “all conservatives are evil” narrative. They’re smart enough to see the hypocrisy, and brave enough to call it out.

I’m proud of them. And more than that, I’m grateful.

The woke mind virus has infected too many institutions. It’s turned schools into political indoctrination centers. It teaches kids that their skin color determines their worth, that gender is a feeling, and that capitalism is the enemy. But that virus doesn’t always take. Some kids still think for themselves. And when they do, they push back hard.

The Thurston students aren’t just pushing back against one bad employee. They’re pushing back against a whole worldview that excuses hate if it comes from the “right” side. They’re rejecting the idea that violence is okay if it’s against conservatives. They’re saying that every human life has value—even if you disagree with their politics.

The school district gave a weak response, saying the views “do not reflect the values of the district.” But there was no apology. No call for accountability. No show of real support for the students who stood up for civility. That’s why the walkout mattered. These students knew that silence from the top meant it was up to them to speak.

This wasn’t a left-wing protest. This wasn’t about identity or victimhood. This was about standing for truth and human dignity. It was about calling out real hate, not imaginary “microaggressions.” And it didn’t come from a politician or a media figure. It came from high schoolers who still believe that right and wrong matter.

To those students, I want to say: thank you.

You are the future of this country. You proved that there is still hope for freedom in places like Oregon. You reminded us that courage isn’t always loud—it can look like a group of teens standing outside their school, refusing to let hate go unchecked.

And to Charlie Kirk, keep going. You’ve inspired millions, and now you’ve inspired a whole new group of students to speak out. That’s what leadership looks like.

For everyone else watching, take note. The culture is shifting. Not everywhere, and not all at once. But seeds of truth are sprouting—even in the most unlikely soil.

The woke machine wants to crush independent thought. But as long as there are young people like the ones at Thurston High, that machine won’t win.

We’ve got to support these students. Not just with words, but with action. Let’s make sure they know they’re not alone. Let’s share their story. Let’s push back against the hate and hypocrisy they stood up to. And let’s remember: real change doesn’t always start in Washington. Sometimes, it starts in a high school courtyard in Oregon.

And sometimes, that’s exactly where the fight for freedom begins.

  • Airwave 0.0.93: stream your station, run your own chat, and stop asking Big Tech for permission

Here is the truth. You do not need a gatekeeper to run a radio station on the web. You do not need a social feed to talk with your audience. You do not need to ask a platform if your words are allowed today.

Airwave Audio Player Matrix just hit version 0.0.93, and this is the release I am calling fully working. The core is solid. The features are stable. The setup is simple enough that a busy station owner can knock it out before the next set. If you have been waiting to try it, stop waiting. Take the keys and drive.

You know what? I built this because censorship is boring and control freaks ruin the party. Radio is honest. Matrix is open. Put them together on your site and you get a home you control, not a cage with rules that change by the hour.

    What just shipped

Version 0.0.93 is a clean, working build with the full station experience on one page. You get the audio player, live metadata, and a Matrix chat client that talks to any homeserver you trust. You also get the combined module, so radio and chat sit in one block without duct tape or extra markup. We tightened the metadata pipeline, smoothed out the Matrix session handling, and polished the admin so you spend more time on music and less on menus.

The features below are not hype. They are in the plugin right now.

    • Streams Shoutcast, Icecast, and SonicPanel
    • Shows Now Playing, artist, artwork, listener counts, and DJ name when available
    • Drops Matrix chat directly on your page for real community conversation
    • Works with shortcodes, theme friendly, and quick to configure in minutes
    • Free and open source, updated often

Those are the basics. If you are done with rented speech, that is the punchline. Run the stack yourself and keep the audience with you. spunwebtechnology.com

The one-liner that does it all

For Disruptarian Radio, this is the shortcode I am using to put our stream and our Matrix room in the same module. It is dead simple.

    [airwave_combined stream="0" room="#disruptarianradio:matrix.org"]

That is it. Publish a page and you have a full cockpit. No tabs, no extra iframes, no nonsense. The combined shortcode ships with the plugin, so you are not copying some hack from a forum. It is supported in the codebase. GitHub

If you want separate blocks instead, the plugin page shows examples for the player, chat, and a compact Now Playing banner. You choose the layout that fits your site. spunwebtechnology.com

What you get, in plain English

Audio that behaves. Airwave handles the popular stream types, respects playlists, and keeps your metadata fresh. Title, artist, cover. Listeners and DJ when your stack reports them. You can run a single stream or rotate across several. Yes, it is fast, and yes, it works on phones. spunwebtechnology.com

Chat that belongs to you. The Matrix pane is a real client, not a dumb embed. Log in once, stay connected, and talk in near real time. Pick your homeserver. Use your own if you want. Nobody in the middle, nobody selling your crowd. spunwebtechnology.com

Setup that respects your time. Install the plugin, open Settings, paste your stream info, drop a shortcode, publish. You can style it like anything else on WordPress. Override colors and layout in your theme if you want to get fancy. spunwebtechnology.com

If you want a longer walkthrough and a peek under the hood, I wrote about how we use it on Disruptarian, why Matrix beats corporate chat, and how the plugin keeps your stream steady and your chat honest. That writeup hits the highlights and shows how we run it in the real world. disruptarian.com

    Who this helps

    • Independent stations that want to own their traffic
    • Podcasters who are sick of walled gardens and rate limits
    • DJs and labels who want a launch page that actually works
    • Community radio that wants open rooms with real names or pseudonyms

Look, paying a social giant with your audience is like handing the town drunk your wallet and hoping he buys groceries instead of whiskey. Keep your wallet. Keep your voice.

Optional helper: automation for stations that need more

Some of you want more than a player and a chat room. You want requests, AI help for common listener questions, and deeper integration with your streaming stack. There is a commercial add-on for that, and it is optional.

    Airwave Automator adds:

    • Interactive song requests with moderation
    • AI listener Q&A that you control
    • SonicPanel, SHOUTcast, and IceCast integration for live status
    • Matrix & IRC chat widgets and other tools for more complex sites
    • Mobile friendly widgets and basic security options

It is built to sit next to the free plugin. Start with Airwave Audio Player Matrix, then add Automator if you want the extra muscle. If you run a busy station, you will probably like the workflow. spunwebtechnology.com

Why this matters for speech and culture

Silencing speech is like putting tape over a smoke alarm. The fire still burns, you just cannot hear the warning. We have watched the usual platforms throttle stories, bury links, and pretend it is for our safety. I do not buy it. Protocols beat platforms because protocols cannot be fired. Matrix is a protocol. Radio is a protocol in spirit. WordPress is the glue you own.

There is a bigger lesson here. When you run your own stack, you stop living at the mercy of someone else’s dashboard. You are not refreshing a policy page to see if your topic got moved to the naughty list. You get to build your own house and set your own rules. And when people trust that you will not disappear their words, they stick around. Community takes root. Culture grows.

    How to get started today

    1. Install and activate Airwave Audio Player Matrix on your WordPress site.
    2. Open Settings, enter your stream info and your Matrix homeserver and default room.
    3. Create a page and place the combined shortcode shown above.
    4. Publish and invite your listeners.

The plugin page includes copy-and-paste examples for different layouts, plus quick fixes for HTTPS and metadata quirks. If you run SonicPanel, there are notes on the JSON endpoint format. Support info is listed on the page as well. spunwebtechnology.com

If you want to see how we run it on Disruptarian and what problems it solves in the real world, my longer blog breakdown covers that, from persistent logins to mixed content handling and stream rotation. It is written for people who ship, not tourists. disruptarian.com

    A note to the builders

This one is for the folks who would rather pave their own road than sit in a platform’s waiting room. If that is you, welcome. Fork the code, send a patch, file an issue, or just run it and tell us what broke. The repository is public. MIT license. No gatekeeper. The combined module is in the readme and in the code, ready to go. GitHub

Government will not protect speech online. Corporations will not either. Speech protects itself when we build tools that do not rely on permission. Airwave 0.0.93 is one small tool in that bigger fight. Use it. Share it. Improve it.

  • Portland ICE Standoff: What I Saw In JD Delay’s Antifa Riot Footage And Why Regular People Stepped In

I have been hard on Antifa for years. Not because I hate protest. I support protest. I am hard on anyone who uses chaos as a tactic and hides behind a slogan. Portland’s battles outside the I.C.E. facility keep proving the point.

JD Delay’s new video from the scene is messy, human, and honest. He shows the camp, the confrontations, the mental health spiral on the sidewalks, and a tense on-camera exchange with “Chandler,” a key organizer who says there is no hierarchy. JD also shows veterans and unaffiliated citizens stepping in when things get ugly. That is the part most media skip.

You know what? If the city will not protect people from predictable violence, people will fill the gap. That is not ideal. It is reality.

And for context, this saga is not a 2020 time capsule. Protests outside Portland’s ICE building have kept flaring up, including arrests for arson attempts and clashes with federal officers in 2025. Local reporting documents fires set against the building, arrests, and repeated use of crowd control munitions. Federal watchdogs also critiqued parts of the 2020 deployment strategy. All of that is on the record. Office of Inspector General+4portland.gov+4https://www.kptv.com+4

JD’s lens: chaos at street level

Delay opens with the simple setup. ICE facility, night two. DHS on the roof. Tension building. He confronts a guy who tries to shove people, gets the usual line about “Trump paying agitators,” and keeps his cool.

He says something that stuck with me: after being swarmed the first time, he was “radicalized against them because of their own behaviors.” That is what happens when a movement turns its hostility toward bystanders and press. Antifa loves to swarm. They do not like being swarmed. He is right.

The video captures life around the camp. Low-income apartments stuck in a nightly blast radius. A school removed from the area. People visibly high, unwell, or both. That is not a narrative. That is film.

    A talk with “Chandler”

JD finds Chandler at what locals call the Antifa HQ. Chandler says there is no leadership, only a loose group with “similar but nuanced” beliefs. He denounces Democrats and Republicans as corporate puppets and says he wants a country that serves “the people.” On paper, I agree with parts of that. Cronyism is poison.

Then he hedges on political violence. He says he denounces it “for the most part,” but if the “ruling class” refuses a popular vote to confiscate wealth, then they would be “in the wrong.” That is a neat way to justify force after the fact. If your plan needs the word “feudal” to sell it, maybe you are not protecting the working class. Maybe you are building a new master.

    Harm reduction or harm denial

JD and an independent journalist, Nick Shirley, talk about needles in parks, open drug scenes, and kids at risk. They argue for one-to-one exchanges and accountability. I agree. Compassion without standards is not compassion. It is neglect. Portland tried to treat addiction as a paperwork problem. It got a public health disaster in return.

    When citizens step in

Here is the moment that will stick in your mind. A veteran named Sabrina Flores steps between an older man in a Santa suit and attackers. She holds the line. No fancy tactics. Just guts. She did not flash a club. She did not hide behind a mask. She saw a person in danger and moved.

This is why I have called, in past posts, for the Proud Boys to show up at these events. Not to start fights. To prevent them. But you do not need a chapter patch to do what Sabrina did. Veterans, church security guys, moms with med kits, unaffiliated neighbors, they are filling the vacuum. I want them calm, lawful, and focused on de-escalation. I do not want vigilantes. I want responsible adults who will not let a woman, an elder, or an officer get stomped while the cameras roll.

    What the record shows

Let us ground this. Portland’s ICE facility has been a flashpoint for years. We have seen flares and fire set against the building. We have seen arrests. We have seen federal officers use gas and less-lethal rounds to push crowds back. Reporters have documented the toll on nearby residents. And federal oversight has criticized the planning behind earlier deployments, which made bad nights worse. These details are well documented. Office of Inspector General+4portland.gov+4https://www.kptv.com+4

So no, this is not “peaceful” in practice. And no, a black-clad crowd claiming leaderless virtue does not excuse assaults on press, neighbors, or cops.

    Principles that actually work

I am a liberty guy. I do not want the state solving every problem with a boot. I also do not pretend that utopia appears when you “abolish” order. Here is what works, and it is not complicated.

    1. Protect speech. Even for people you do not like. If they are not breaking things or attacking people, let them talk.
    2. Stop crime immediately. When someone assaults a journalist or throws a flare at a building with people inside, they get arrested. Not tomorrow. Now.
    3. Keep feds competent and accountable. When the federal government sends officers, it must be lawful, trained, and targeted. The DHS inspector general tore into the 2020 planning. Learn from it. Fix it. Office of Inspector General
    4. Empower community defense the right way. Church security, trained veterans, neighborhood watch, volunteer medics, and legal observers can all make hot zones safer. None of that requires a badge. All of it requires discipline.
    5. Demand urban policy for grown-ups. Addiction policy needs accountability. Homeless policy needs treatment pathways, not tents on school routes. Stop paying for failure and calling it compassion.

    About Antifa’s “leaderless” story

The “no leaders” line is a shield. It allows planning without responsibility. When property burns or people get jumped, no one is in charge. Clever. Also dishonest. Decentralized real-time networks can organize, supply, and target with more speed than a top-down group. Pretending that means “no accountability” is part of the game.

    Where I stand

I will always defend the right to protest. I will not defend using a protest as camouflage for violence. I will praise citizens who step in to protect a stranger. I will call out cops and feds when they get sloppy or overbroad. I can hold all those thoughts at once because I care about liberty more than I care about team jerseys.

Watching JD’s video, I saw a city that keeps asking regular people to carry the burden of basic order. That is unfair. It is also what keeps happening when leaders refuse to act. The government’s first job is to protect life and property. When it will not, citizens will. That is not theory. That is America, from shopkeepers in Koreatown to ranchers on a fence line to a veteran in Portland stepping in front of Santa.

Pay attention to who shows up when it counts. It tells you everything.

  • Working For Myself After Years In Corporate IT

I grew up rough. Capitol Hill in Seattle, Portland, and Santa Cruz were my classrooms. Home was a war zone. My parents fought about my mom’s infidelity and my dad’s alcoholism. I could have stayed, but I chose to move on. I stayed with family from about 12 to 15, then hit the road on my own at almost 16. I kept ending up in Seattle, usually Capitol Hill. I went back home a few times, but the same fights pushed me back out.

My brother Justin wanted out too. He died by suicide in 2002 after a huge fight with our mother. That loss still sits heavy.

During all of this I found a relationship with Jesus. Street ministries and the Bible gave me a different path. Romans 12 spoke to me about making things right. I went back to Utah and spent nine months in jail for old cannabis charges. That time was part of my reset.

I had a chance to settle into my family’s religion. I had been on the rolls since I was eight. After a lot of thought and prayer, I decided to skip the labels and keep a direct relationship with Jesus. Pastor Gene Short in Orem, Utah helped me, and I was baptized in the Provo River in 2000.

    The IT road starts

I started at Microsoft through Convergys in Orem, Utah as a Tier II tech on the Windows 2000 project. In 2002, I stayed on the Microsoft track, working with MSN and Qwest. I met my wife, who is now my ex as of 2020. I stepped into independent work, building websites and doing computer service as an independent contractor through ComputerRepair.com.

In 2004, two years into marriage, we decided to have kids. I took a corporate job with Adelphia Communications for the insurance and stability. After our daughter was born in 2004, we moved back to Utah and kept building our IT service business, Thompson Professional Networks. We knew more kids were coming, so I took a field manager job with Federal Communications. The travel did not last. My wife had postpartum depression and needed me home. I went back to self-employment.

Money was not overflowing, but it was enough. I started other small businesses too. A consignment store. A screen printing shop. A vaporizer store. I kept the IT work going. Then I decided to send a resume and was hired on the first try at Talyst Inc. as a Tier II support engineer for automated pharmacy systems.

    The crash

In 2013, after almost six years at Talyst and with two more kids and one on the way, I was traveling between Northern California and Seattle for work and training. A drunk driver going the wrong way on I-5 hit me head on. That wreck changed everything. Workers’ comp helped me through the recovery, which is still ongoing twelve years later. It was a blessing and a curse. It covered care, but it also reminded me how little control employees have when disaster strikes.
    Reference: https://kval.com/news/local/man-dies-in-crash-driving-the-wrong-way-on-i-5-near-state-border

After the accident I went back to working for myself. I invested in a multi-unit apartment and a vaporizer business. The fights over control, money, and who was the boss ruined it. We sold the businesses and took losses. Divorce followed, and that pain landed hardest on the kids.

    A return to corporate, briefly

I tried the corporate path again and joined Pacific Office Automation as a Technical Account Manager. The pay was great. The benefits were solid. The culture was toxic. They ran it like a military platoon. That might work with the right people, but morale was awful. When I was hired our team had six people. Within six weeks five of us quit, including me. The manager, Shane Meyers, had a big ego and did not want anyone outshining him. You can see the pattern on Glassdoor and other review sites.

Two years later I looked them up again. They fired their CEO and got hit with a 70 million dollar lawsuit. There were sexual abuse scandals in the mix too.

From what I saw and what others report, it is back-breaking work and long hours without overtime for exempt roles like TAM. They make big promises to recruits that do not match reality. Turnover is sky high. Again, check Glassdoor.

Back on my own, and another hit

I went back to my company, Thompson Professional Networks. Low voltage work, installs, security cameras. My body is full of titanium from the wreck. On a ladder one day, I was unstable, started to fall, and in trying to steady myself I cut off my pinky. That put me at home.

So I turned to software full time.

    Building products from my sofa

    I started shipping projects.

The AI wave is coming hard. It will change everything more than any industrial or cultural shift we have seen. That is scary and exciting. My advice is simple. Do what you love, and love what you do. But learn AI no matter what. If you ignore it, you will be left behind. That is not hype. That is reality.

I liked running stores with my kids. I learned a lot in corporate. But building software at home is my favorite. I get to dream big, try to solve real problems, and do it from my sofa with good music while I spend time with my children.

That is my reality. I hope you can use it.

What I learned: corporate vs self-employed

People ask which is better. Here is my straight answer from living both.

    Self-employment, pros:
    • Freedom to pick projects, clients, and hours
    • Direct connection between effort and reward
    • Room to build with your family involved
    • Faster learning and more varied skills
    • You control your values and your brand

    Self-employment, cons:
    • Income swings, some months are lean
    • You carry the risk, including health and safety
    • Admin never ends, taxes, compliance, bookkeeping
    • Fights over control inside a family business can sink it
    • No built-in benefits during crisis unless you set them up

    Corporate, pros:
    • Steady paycheck and benefits, especially health insurance
    • Big systems to learn from, larger teams, bigger tools
    • Workers’ comp and formal support when disaster hits
    • Clear ladders to climb if the culture is healthy

    Corporate, cons:
    • Culture can be toxic and political
    • Managers can block growth to protect themselves
    • Long hours without fair overtime for exempt roles
    • Promises at hiring often do not match reality
    • Your life can be rearranged by someone else’s decision

Here is the truth. Both paths can work. Both can fail. What matters is ownership. If you do take a job, own your skills and your exit plan. If you build your own thing, own your systems and your safety net. And either way, learn AI.

    Closing thought

I am not telling you to copy me. I am telling you to take ownership of your life, your tools, and your time. Learn what you need to stay useful. Build what you believe in. And do not wait for permission.

If my story helps you choose your next step, good. If it pushes you to finally build, even better.

  • Hollywood’s new family values: father optional, career mandatory, and mom on her own

You know what? It is not subtle anymore. The biggest storytellers in America keep selling the same package. The single mom as the icon. The boss babe as the hero. Dad as a punchline, a sperm donor, or a problem to overcome. Marriage is flexible, optional, or a relic. The message is clear enough for a middle schooler. Traditional family, step aside.

I am not mad at any one film. I am looking at the pattern. Culture is a drumbeat. Movies, streaming, influencers, classroom posters. The beat says: you do not need a father, motherhood is a personal brand, and the word patriarchy is the villain in every act. That drumbeat did not start in a Hollywood writers room. The theory was on paper long before the studio notes.

    From theory to prime time

Marx and Engels said it out loud. In the Communist Manifesto they target the bourgeois family and tie it to capital and private gain. They talk about the abolition of the family in a future order that breaks inheritance and private property. That is the frame. Family is not sacred, it is a class machine. (Marxists Internet Archive )

Engels took it further in “The Origin of the Family, Private Property and the State.” He linked monogamy to property and power, and treated the nuclear home as a historical stage to move beyond. When early Bolsheviks got power, they ran the play. They secularized marriage, made divorce easy, legalized abortion in 1920, and tried to shift cooking, washing, and child care into public systems. The Zhenotdel, a party women’s department, pushed campaigns to make private family life less central. Then the state yo-yoed back under Stalin when the social costs bit hard. It was not a secret. It was written down, then tried in real life. (Encyclopedia Britannica)

So when people say there is no “anti-family” strain in left ideology, I point to the text and the history. The family was a target because the family competes with the state for loyalty, resources, and identity.

Kate Millett, her sister’s story, and the line into mainstream culture

Second-wave feminism then reframed private life as power politics. Kate Millett’s “Sexual Politics” made that lens a best seller in 1970 and pushed the idea that the bedroom and the family are arena and battleground, not refuge. That text helped set the vibe for a generation of activists and writers. Millett worked in NOW’s orbit as an education committee chair.

Mallory Millett, Kate’s sister, later described a 1960s meeting where a call-and-response allegedly pledged to “destroy the American family” by dismantling the patriarch and monogamy. That account circulates widely in conservative and religious media. It is a claim from a single source, not a transcript in an archive, but the sentiment maps to the theory we just walked through. Hollywood did not invent that tone. It amplified it. (The Father’s Rights Movement)

The island musical that made it feel cute

“Mamma Mia” is a fun jukebox fantasy. It is also a clear blueprint. Independent mom. No father in sight. Daughter shops for a dad like she is scrolling a menu. In the end, nobody needs paternity to define family. The crowd cheers. Confetti. Credits. That is not an accident. It is the culture telling you that a father is optional, even quaint. And it is one of many titles with the same spirit. (Rotten Tomatoes)

Look around. “Erin Brockovich.” “Baby Boom.” “Waitress.” “Where the Heart Is.” The beats repeat. A woman against the system, often without a husband, sometimes with a child in tow, proving she can carry it all. Sometimes the dad returns. Sometimes he is a reward for the credits. The point is survival without him, not life with him.

Do some of these stories inspire? Sure. People overcome hard things. My argument is not that you cannot root for a strong woman. My argument is that one model dominates, and the industry keeps doubling down while research groups cheerlead the trend and lobby for more of it. Even the Geena Davis Institute, which does careful media audits, says the industry has reached gender parity for leads in family films and now aims to “rewrite motherhood” on screen. That is an agenda. They say it out loud. (Geena Davis Institute)

    But does it matter?

Stories matter. Kids eat narratives long before they touch policy. The same groups show that portrayals of mothers are curated, tidy, and often detached from the messy work of real care. When you normalize the single path and flatten dads into props, you train expectations. It is like watering down your whiskey. Same glass, less kick. (Geena Davis Institute)

You can feel the shift in the numbers too. The United States total fertility rate fell to about 1.62 in 2023 and about 1.60 in 2024. Replacement is 2.1. Many rich countries are sliding under 1.4, the UN’s red zone for rapid population decline and hard aging. This is not a vibe, it is a line graph. (NCBI)

As birth rates stay low and people age, the old-age dependency ratio climbs. In the OECD, it rose from 19 percent in 1980 to 31 percent in 2023 and is projected to hit about 52 percent by 2060. That means fewer workers per retiree, more strain on pensions, health care, and the informal care network. In plain English, fewer adult kids to check on grandma. (OECD)

Who fills the gap today? Families, mostly unpaid. In the United States, around 38 to 63 million people are providing unpaid eldercare, and across the OECD about 60 percent of older people who get help at home receive only informal care. That is heroic. It is also fragile. When your culture trains people to delay family or avoid it, the pool of caregivers shrinks. The state then steps in with programs that never quite keep up. Paying taxes for this is like handing the town drunk your wallet and hoping he buys groceries instead of whiskey. (Bureau of Labor Statistics)

You can see the extreme case in places like Japan. Record aging, more seniors living alone, and a surge of solitary deaths. It is bleak. It is also a warning. If we dismantle family bonds in the name of liberation, the market and the ministry will not love your parents like you do. (Reuters)

But wait, are movies to blame for birthrates?

No single thing drives fertility. Costs, housing, wages, trust in the future, faith, and yes, culture. This is a stew. My point is not to cherry pick one driver. My point is to call out a coordinated story that tells young people the family is a trap and dad is a joke, while the math shows we need more families and more care, not less. Culture is the on-ramp to policy. The theory aims at the family. The drumbeat normalizes it. The numbers lock it in.

    What I am for

I am not saying ban movies. I am not saying shame single parents. Many are heroes. I am saying stop pretending the culture is neutral. It is not. And if you are tired of being lectured by people who think the state is your parent, then build something better in your home, your church, your neighborhood, your business.

    Practical steps:

    • Tell better stories. Celebrate mothers without making them mascots for a politics degree. Put married fathers on screen who lead with service, not swagger. Give kids examples worth copying. (Geena Davis Institute)

    • Stop taxing family time. Kill marriage penalties, expand child tax relief that lets families keep their own money, and strip licensing rules that block in-home child care, tutoring, and micro-schools. Let voluntary exchange do its work.

    • Rebuild civil society. Mutual aid beats bureaucracy. Your community can stand up meal trains, respite co-ops, and elder check-ins faster than a state agency can find a clipboard.

    • Respect tradeoffs. Work is good. So are babies. When the only script for a young woman is “climb hard, maybe kids later,” do not be shocked when later becomes never. The costs are real. So are the joys.

The family is not a primitive holding tank for patriarchy. It is the smallest, freest unit of self-government. Break it, and you do not get paradise. You get lonely elders, overrun systems, and a horizon with fewer little feet.

    Where Hollywood fits

Hollywood can keep making boss babe flicks and cute fatherless musicals. Free country. But it should not be surprised that many of us will stop paying for sermons that treat fathers like malware and motherhood like weakness. Call it what it is. A narrative that lines up very neatly with a long paper trail that treats the family as a rival to power. The Fed is like a carnival barker with a money printer, and Hollywood is the house band. The song is catchy. The bill is coming.

    Receipts, not vibes

    • Communist texts target the bourgeois family and imagine its abolition with the end of private property. Early communists turned that into secular marriage, easy divorce, abortion legalization in 1920, and a push to socialize housework through party organs like the Zhenotdel. (Marxists Internet Archive )

    • Second-wave theory mainstreamed the idea that private life is political. Kate Millett’s “Sexual Politics” is exhibit A, and she worked in NOW’s education arm, though she was not a founder. Mallory Millett’s infamous meeting “litany” is a single-source recollection that aligns with the broader theory but is not an official NOW document. (Encyclopedia Britannica)

    • Pop culture reflects and pushes the script. “Mamma Mia” is the glossy template that treats fatherhood as optional and chosen family as superior to blood. Industry advocates now openly campaign to “rewrite motherhood” on screen. (Rotten Tomatoes)

    • The demographic facts are not friendly. Fertility in the U.S. sits around 1.60 to 1.62. Many rich countries have fallen under 1.4. Aging is speeding up, and the care load is shifting to fewer adult children and a tired informal network. (NCBI)

If you want a healthy society, you do not mock the people who make it. You honor mothers. You expect fathers to show up. You build families that can carry weight. Because when family fails, the state grows. And that trade never pays.

  • Airwave Audio Player + Matrix: Free Speech Radio For The Real Internet

Here is the short version. We built a WordPress plugin that lets your station stream clean audio while your listeners chat in Matrix on the same page. No middlemen, no walled gardens, no shadow throttling. Audio in one pane, decentralized chat in the other. It works, it is free, and it is open source.

Big Tech has been playing bouncer at the public square for years. They wave in some folks, and “accidentally” lose the ID of others. You know what? I am done asking permission to speak. That is why I wrote this plugin. If you run an online radio station, podcast, or community stream, you should be done asking too.

Airwave Audio Player Matrix is our answer. It is a WordPress plugin that gives you professional radio streaming, live metadata, and a full Matrix chat client on your site. Install it, drop in two shortcodes, and your audience gets the whole experience without a social platform deciding who can talk. (GitHub )

What it is, in plain English

    • A reliable audio player for Shoutcast, Icecast, and SonicPanel. It rotates streams if you want, and it handles M3U playlists correctly. It fetches now playing, DJ info, cover art, and recent tracks. It deals with CORS and mixed content so your page does not break when your streams are on different protocols. (GitHub )
    • A real Matrix chat pane, not a dumb embed. Persistent logins. Join rooms by alias. Room list, message timeline, send and receive in real time. It talks to any Matrix homeserver and uses the official Matrix JavaScript SDK. Visual status indicators tell you if the connection is live. Sessions persist across reloads. (GitHub )

That is the core. Stream plus chat, side by side, under your control.

    Why I built it

I am a free speech guy. I do not need Silicon Valley to grant me a hall pass. Silencing speech is like putting duct tape over a smoke alarm. The fire still burns, you just cannot hear the warning. We have watched platforms throttle, ban, and label any view outside the approved lane. They call it safety. I call it centralized power.

Matrix is a protocol, not a platform. No single company can flip a switch and cut it off. Radio is one of the last honest mediums. Put them together on your own site and you get a full media experience that is hard to censor and easy to love. This plugin is my small contribution to that world. Free software, MIT license, fork it and make it yours. (GitHub )

    Features you can count on

Audio that does not flake out

    • Shoutcast, Icecast, SonicPanel support
    • Automatic stream rotation across up to five streams
    • Robust event handling and server-side playlist resolution for M3U and redirects
    • Mixed content detection so HTTPS pages warn about HTTP streams instead of failing silently
    • Proper CORS handling out of the box (GitHub )

Matrix chat that belongs to you

    • Full Matrix SDK integration with persistent login stored locally
    • Join by room alias, browse your rooms, and send messages in real time
    • CORS-free operation with a server-side proxy so you do not fight browser blockers
    • Live connection status checks every 30 seconds with clear visual indicators (GitHub )

Metadata that makes your station feel alive

    • Polls metadata every 15 seconds
    • Parses Shoutcast, Icecast, and SonicPanel formats
    • Shows artist, title, DJ, listeners, album art, and recent track history
    • Normalizes fields so everything is consistent across servers (GitHub )

    Admin that respects your time

    • Configure up to five streams, pick single or rotation mode, set the interval
    • Set a default Matrix homeserver and room alias
    • Autoplay toggle and theme display controls
    • Input sanitization and nonces for security, no server-side storage of credentials (GitHub )

It is MIT licensed, so you can study it, remix it, ship your own version, and nobody sends you a lawyer letter. (GitHub )

How to use it in five minutes

    1. Upload to your WordPress site at /wp-content/plugins/airwave-audio-player-matrix/, then activate in Plugins.
    2. In WP Admin, open Settings, then “Airwave Radio + Matrix.”
    3. Add your stream URLs. Pick your mode, rotation interval, and autoplay.
    4. Add your Matrix homeserver and a default room alias.
    5. Drop these shortcodes on any page or post:
    [airwave_radio title="My Radio Station"]

    Community Chat

Place both shortcodes on one page for the full radio plus chat cockpit. That is it. You now run your own little media network without a permission slip. (GitHub )

Why this beats the usual social widgets

    • You keep your audience. Traffic lives on your domain, not in someone else’s feed.
    • You choose the server. Any Matrix homeserver works. You can run your own or use a trusted host.
    • You avoid surprise outages. If a social platform sneezes, your station should not catch a cold.
    • You get a real community. Radio cuts through noise. Chat bonds people. Together, they build culture.

Paying a social giant with your audience is like handing the town drunk your wallet and hoping he buys groceries instead of whiskey. Keep your wallet. Keep your voice.

    Part of a bigger toolset

Airwave Audio Player Matrix pairs well with our commercial WordPress suite, Airwave Automator, which adds interactive song requests, AI chat for listener Q&A, and deep streaming integration for SonicPanel, Shoutcast, and Icecast. If you need station operations, requests, and advanced widgets, that is your upgrade path. The new plugin and the pro tools live in the same family, so you can start free and grow when you are ready. (Spun Web Technology)

If you want a browser-side companion for listeners, there is also a free Chrome side-panel app that combines radio streaming and Matrix chat in one tidy view. Listeners can tune in and talk without even leaving the page they are on. That tool shares the same philosophy: simple, fast, and controlled by you. (Spun Web Technology)

    Who should run this

    • Independent stations, podcasters, and scene builders who are tired of platform whiplash
    • Community radio that wants open chat with real names or pseudonyms
    • Musicians and labels that want a launch page with live streams and live rooms
    • Activists and educators who value resilient comms over blue-check vibes

The state will not protect speech online. The platforms will not either. Speech protects itself when we run our own tools and protocols.

A quick peek under the hood

    • Real-time checks keep the Matrix status honest, with clear green or red indicators.
    • A PHP proxy handles Matrix and metadata requests to avoid CORS headaches.
    • Local storage keeps auth tokens on the browser, not your server.
    • Admin notices are clean and focused so you are not drowning in WordPress noise.
    • Performance is tuned so status checks are fast and UI is responsive on modern browsers. (GitHub )

It is like the Fed is running money on a carnival ride when you use centralized platforms. Flashy lights, rigged games, and you walk out lighter. Protocols and plugins like this are the hard-won cash in your pocket. No carnival, just work.

    Call to action

Run your station. Host your chat. Own the room. Install the plugin, add two shortcodes, and give your people a home that does not disappear the next time a trust and safety intern decides your playlist is dangerous.

Freedom of speech is not a setting in someone else’s app. It is a habit you build with your own hands.
